These 940 compressed sheet packings, which can withstand temperatures up
to 600 °F, have the best combination of qualities to be found in
non-asbestos gasket materials, including excellent electrical
resistance. They combine aramid fibre with SBR rubber enhanced with
another high-quality elastomer adding greatly to their useful chemical
resistance.
Tough and flexible, they cut to exact dimensions without loose
fibres. Under normal service conditions it is virtually impossible to
crack these sheet even when bent on a mandrel with a radius 0f only 3
times the sheet thickness.
940 sheet packings are not recommended for service against most
aromatic hydrocarbons, acids, caustics, fuel and solvents.
