976 is a combination of high temperature aramid fibres with neoprene
rubber. The clean, white colour identifies it with its primary use in
gasketing refrigerant systems. Its flame resistant quality promotes
maximum safety in hazardous environments.
Generally in service in freon type refrigerants, high aniline point
oils, ammonia gas and silicate esters, it has fair resistance to
petroleum based fluids that are low aromatics.
Neoprene based sheet is not recommended for petroleum fluids or high
aromatic solvents or with phosphate esters, ketones, brake fluids, fuels
and all chlorinated solvents.
