JM Clipper (now Parker) Duxseal is the unequalled, multipurpose
sealing and caulking compound with excellent adhesion and high shape
retention..
Characteristics
Duxseal is widely used throughout industry in a virtually unlimited
number of applications because of its unique properties.
Duxseal has a heavy, putty-like consistency (thumb grade. It is
compounded with a non-asbestos inert fibre and non-drying oil base, and
handles like putty.
Duxseal adheres to most clean surfaces. It is insoluble in water and
unaffected by moisture, ordinary gases and condensates. Seals out dust,
dirt, water, acids, fumes and gases. It never hurts or stains hands.
Duxseal is re-useable. It is easily removed and reapplied whenever
necessary. Both application and removal are done by hand..no heat
necessary.
Duxseal has excellent shape retention. It is easily formed to fit any
application and holds that form.
Flammability
The unique formulation of Duxseal overcomes the problem of
flammability in a non-hardening putty. The premium waxes and oils used
in Duxseal keep it soft and pliable (even in the presence of air) and
yet Duxseal dos not support flame.
Application Although Duxseal was originally developed for
use by electric power and telephone companies to seal openings in ducts
carrying conductors, Duxseal also has become and indispensable item for
plumbers, steamfitters, air conditioning mechanics, maintenance
engineers, general mechanics and general handymen. Because of its
almost unlimited versatility, Duxseal is used by trades to seal:

infiltration from leaky gas mains and other underground sources, when
used around cable openings at the base of fire boxes, traffic lights,
